New Shoes and Old Prints
I am in KLU for the weekend and yesterday morning, Mum and I went into town. She wanted to show me a new cheapo shop on Bahnhofstraße, where she had recently bought a handbag. It's one of those shops the Mermaid is magnetically drawn to and the Pampered Princess would never set foot inside. I wasn't too enthusiastic about their handbag range, but I picked up this cool pair of (faux) patent leather and suede "pop art" shoes, which are super lightweight and comfortable. They cost all of €18 and come in three colour-combinations. I love this emerald green/yellow one:
In Japan, I had bought two 19th century ukiyo-e prints each for my parents and myself. I already framed the smaller one I kept, but the larger, more expensive one, was an unusual size and called for a proper passe-partout and frame. My Mum got it framed professionally in KLU and I love the result. which really compliments the print:
Incidentally, the frames cost as much as the prints themselves and I was a bit embarrassed about my Trojan gifthorse since Mum refused to let me reimburse her for the framing.
