May Day... Mayday!
Today is a holiday, May Day. It's also a Saturday. With the added bonus of 15-minute-queues at supermarkets the night before. Yay! August 15 falls on a Sunday this year as well and I have to say that on such "wasted holidays" envy British/Irish/Japanese, etc. citzens who get the subsequent Monday off if one of their holidays happens to fall on a weekend in a given year.Sigh.

Well, we're still better off than people in Slovenia... In Slovenia, May 1 AND May 2 are holidays, but no compensation is offered if they fall on Saturday and Sunday :-D
You are right, having 2 holidays "stolen" is much worse! Poor Slovenians.
Given this, working in Dublin wasn't that bad after all...
